I started photographing people in 2005, and discovered quickly that I absolutely loved it. I have been running my business since a corporate redundancy in 2009 (thanks GFC!), and specialising in newborn and family images since moving into my studio in 2013.
The walls of our home are covered with photos of our family, and the boys adore looking back at their chubby cheeks and baby faces.
But there are a few photos missing… I foolishly thought I could take my own photos of my eldest as a newborn, and missed out on that small window of time when my first baby was a tiny one. After a difficult pregnancy, a traumatic birth, and a challenging recovery… it just didn’t happen.
This is just one of the reasons I love being there for my clients in that small window. Snuggling your baby, letting you rest, listening to your birth story (oh, and taking some photos) – there’s definitely no other job I’d rather have.
Our human boys are eight and eleven, and our crazy sausage dogs are ten. Motherhood is certainly my greatest blessing and toughest challenge. It’s something to be treasured, but also a whole lot of hard work!
I want my studio to be a relaxed and inviting place where families can feel at home, be themselves, and enjoy a stress-free portrait experience.
I’d love to meet you and get to know your family. Photography is my happy place.
I hold a current Queensland Government working with children "blue card"
If I did one of those 'getting to know you' quizzes...
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Is coffee considered a food?
What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?
Run. Eat. Read. Nap. Repeat (all in blissful quiet)
What’s at the top of your travel bucket list?
Ireland! I’m a sucker for romantic Nora Roberts novels and the way she describes the Irish countryside…..
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Oh how I would love to fly!
Dog or cat person?
Definitely a dog person. Though surprisingly, I’m also now a snake person! We have friends with snakes, and the boys pestered me for years until I got over my fear, and now we have two pythons in our family.
Do you have any hobbies?
Well, I don’t know if it’s considered a hobby, but the boys are I are all into martial arts. In 2021 I ticked off a pretty huge bucket list item and got my black belt! I love to exercise, and I recently ran my first marathon.
