I have known Eleanor’s family for a couple of years now through our mutual love of crazy Dachshunds, so it was lovely to spend some time in the studio with them back in July for her newborn shoot. She is such a special little one, and I adore her name! Big sister Abigail was just smitten and so keen to pose for me too.

Abigail actually came back recently for a special conceptual photo shoot, which I hope to share soon!

Of course, Eleanor looks like a perfect doll in her photos, but I really enjoyed trying a few different techniques for their family photos in this session. I love the connection, particularly between cheeky Abigail and her lovely mum.

A touch of fresh flowers. Mum & I both loved this setup. Green is a favourite, and this beautiful 100% wool is soooo soft and yummy – from the lovely Niki at Shepherdess.

How I love black & white! Just perfection for newborns.

Eleanor’s cheeky look always makes me smile, and Abigail was concentrating so hard on getting everything perfect. Such sweet sisters.

This gorgeous rainbow, hand-dyed wool is from Erin at Beer & Skittles. It is ridiculously soft and I’m so looking forward to using it again.
